We spoke to longtime Artica contributing artist Matthew Traeger, aka Auntie Matthew, well-known throughout the Artica grounds in recent years for his brilliantly-designed umbrellas, which light up the circle surrounding the Burn of Our Lady of Artica each fall. This year, he created 40 of them, each an individual work of art, made with a consdierable amoutn of time and craftsmanship.

Along with frquent Artica artist Elisa Sugar, he was preparing to hand out the umbrellas to a deep line of folks when we ambled over to grab some conversation on video. He was kind enought to talk to us about his work at Artica over the years, his thoughts on creativity in general, some tangents on Burning Man and other, fun topics. Of course, with Matthew, every conversation includes some measure of fun.
